Projects
CAI Bulletin July 2004: Other projects - in brief
Myanmar
Dr Bridget Edwards, CAI’s Honorary Country Director for Myanmar (Burma) made an assessment visit in December and plans to introduce training programmes for doctors, nurses and midwifes as funds allow.
Djibouti
Dr Bernadette O'Hare is currently developing plans for increased training for doctors and medical workers in Djibouti. Currently the country has just one paediatrician and a large refugee population has little access to healthcare.
Iraq
Dr Joanne Meran undertook a feasibility visit last year, however due to the current instability in Iraq plans are being developed to assist locally based staff only at the present time.
Charity Shop
Plans are underway to open a charity shop in Stoke-on-Trent to support our work and also to raise our profile locally. Further details will be released soon but if you have any experience in this area and would like to help please call us on +44 (0)115 950 6662.
Educational Materials
The International Child Health Care Manual, the Pocket Emergency Care Book, and APLS CD Rom are now all on sale through BMJ Books and TALC for overseas sales. An Obstetric CD Rom is still being developed but will shortly be available for sale. For further details please call +44 (0)115 950 6662
