Mothercare Uganda
In the first three months of 2004 a total of 16 babies were abandoned at the Mulago Hospital unit in Kampala where CAI’s MotherCare programme is based.
Tushabe aged approximately 1 month was abandoned by his mother on the acute care unit as she probably did not have the money to pay for his treatment. Tushabe is now recovering and if his mother does not claim him, he will go to a local orphanage.
